ECommunication Efforts Earn 14 State And National Award
Television Ads, Recruitment Materials Earn Top Honors

OSF Saint Anthony earned four 25th annual Telly Awards

Staff members of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center earned four Pinnacle Awards for public relations and marketing excellence and six merit awards from the Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR). The awards were presented at a recent meeting of the society in Bloomington. Pinnacle Awards are presented by ISHMPR to recognize creative and effective marketing and public relations produced by its members.

The entries, categories and staff earning Pinnacle Awards were:

  • "Introducing Dr. Locher," television advertising series, Gerrie Gustafson and the entire cardiac surgery team;
  • "I Am A Nurse," direct mail advertising, Gregory Alford and Lorraine Campbell;
  • "I Am A Radiation Therapist," Gregory Alford, Janet Skurski and David Friedrich;
  • "Serving with Care and Love" CD-Rom, single PR project, Gregory Alford, Lorraine Campbell, Jennifer Prentice and Dave Friedrich.

Merit awards for public relations and marketing projects were presented for: "Building for the Future," newspaper insert, Gerrie Gustafson, Gregory Alford, Marge Zimmermann, David Friedrich and Cheryl Lester; "20th Annual OSF Heritage Run," special event, Gerrie Gustafson and Cheryl Lester; "Stenting," photography, David Friedrich; "Saint Anthony College of Nursing," total campaign, Gregory Alford, Gerrie Gustafson, Nancy Sanders, Cheryl Delgado, Terri Burch and David Friedrich; "Phil Roehrig," writing, Gregory Alford; and "Medical Staff Services," writing, Gregory Alford.

" These awards represent some of the finest public relations and marketing campaigns created anywhere in Illinois," says Gerrie Gustafson, director of marketing and communications. "It takes a great deal of skill, knowledge, teamwork and talent to earn these awards. Working to improve the health of the community by creative effective communications is part of our Mission to 'serve with the greatest care and love.' "

OSF Saint Anthony also recently earned four awards in the 25th Annual Telly Awards, which are one of the most prestigious competitions recognizing excellence in television commercials, film and video productions on a national level. A Silver Telly (winner) was awarded for one of the 30-second ads in the “Introducing Dr. Locher” series. A 60-second version of the commercial received a Bronze Telly (finalist, second place), and two spots featuring cardiothoracic surgeons James P. Locher, Jr., MD, and Baron D. Harper, MD, also received Bronze Awards.
